Start A New 4-H Club

If there isn’t a currently available club that fits your family’s interests, starting a new group can be a great option. All 4-H clubs are required to:

  • Have at least one certified adult volunteer leader

  • Have at least five enrolled youth members from three different families

  • Meet a minimum of six times per year

The schedule, meeting location, and projects you work on are up to you! You can be a small, single-project club or a large, diverse group. You can meet year-round or seasonally. Conduct meetings in person, via Zoom, or a mix of the two.

  1. The first step is to find a few other interested families. (The 4-H office can help with this if needed.)

  2. Have an organizational meeting to discuss which project(s) everyone would like to work on, a regular meeting schedule, and the club name. Choose at least one adult to complete the volunteer certification.

  3. When the new leader has been certified, contact the 4-H office to obtain the club registration paperwork. After it is filled out and sent back, your new club will be added to our 4-H Online enrollment system.

  4. Notify your club members to enroll in 4-H Online.

  5. Meet with your club and start working on projects!

If you have any questions or need any help, please let us know! We are happy to walk you through the process and connect you with an experienced leader.
