Snakes of Nebraska on Display at
AK-SAR-BEN Aquarium
July 21-21

If you’ve ever wanted to see Nebraska’s snakes up close and find out how to identify them while learning about their habitat and conservation, visit Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium July 21 and 22.

Extension Associate Professor Dennis Ferraro will be at the Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium, located at Schramm Park State Recreation Area (6 miles south of Interstate 80, exit 432), with many of Nebraska’s 29 native snake species for educational programs and displays on these unique creatures. The program will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and offers the opportunity to ask questions, view specimens, watch snake handling demonstrations and learn about the conservation and ecology of Nebraska’s native reptiles.

This “Snakes of Nebraska” program is sponsored by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension and no pre-registration is required. It is free with paid admission to Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium ($1 for adults, 50 cents for children).

For more information on the Snakes of Nebraska program, contact Dennis Ferraro by e-mail
