Food Preservation: Basics Home canning your fresh garden produce is an enjoyable and highly satisfying experience. It offers a sense of accomplishment you can share with your family and friends. Whether you are an experienced or novice home canner, an understanding of how the process works is essential for successful results. The basics are easy to learn and should be reviewed each canning season. Food Preservation: Basics Class will give the basics of home food preservation from why you can the way you do; to equipment that is necessary for a proper food preservation experience. This class is for youth 9 to adults. It will be offered June 18th 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., repeated 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Central Office. *Cost: $15.00 per adult or 4-H member, $25 per non 4-H member. Food Preservation: Freezing and Drying Convenient to store and simple to use, dehydrated foods add another dimension to cooking and baking. This preservation method offers excellent results whether you use a dehydrator, or oven. Food Preservation: Freezing and Drying Class will give you hands on experience in the realm of freezing and dehydrating seasonal fruits/vegetables. This hands on class is for youth 9 to adults. It will be offered July 8th 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., repeated 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Central Office. *Cost: $15.00 per adult or 4-H member, $25 per non 4-H member.
