Military 4-H Youth Development
Offutt 4-H
The USDA/Army Youth Development Project (USDA/AYDP) started in 1995 and has been growing steadily. The goal of the project is to extend 4-H to U.S. Military families worldwide. 4-H has been partnered with the U.S. Army Child and Youth Services and the Air Force Family Member Programs to provide youth with 4-H programs wherever they are.
Nebraska Military 4-H Clubs are held at the Youth Center in Capehart Housing near Offutt AFB in Bellevue, Nebraska. Youth who belong to active, reserve, or retired military of all branches attend the Youth Center. Youth that attend the Center are encouraged and welcome to participate in all the activities that 4-H provides from camps to fairs.
There are always opportunities and venues besides the Youth Center for military and non-military youth whose parents support the missions of Offutt AFB to participate in 4-H. Beyond the opportunities at the Youth Center you can start your own 4-H Club. It is as easy as gathering a few friends and an adult volunteer. For more information contact Michele Myer at (402)444-7804 or email.

Nebraska Operation: Military Kids (OMK)
Operation: Military Kids is the U.S. Army's collaborative effort with America's communities to support the children and youth impacted by deployment. This initiative was officially launched in April 2005. Since its inception OMK has touched 88,000 military youth and provided information to 21009 community members across the United States.

Operation: Military Kids, as part of the 4-H/Army Youth Development Project, is a vital part of the Army OneSource (AOS) delivery system. Families and youth can access information about OMK programs, link to OMK partner programs on this OMK website or by contacting their State 4-H Military Liaison. Nebraska’s OMK Military Liaison is Mark Simmons and he may be reached at (402)444-7804 or email OR contact Beth Kaiser at (402) 440-9580 or email.
The national website for further information on OMK can be accessed at www.operationmilitarykids.org or the Nebraska website at www.nebraskaomk.org.
